ALEXANDRIA, VA — Alexandria Celebrates Women announces the debut of ACW Salon, a monthly gathering of leading women thinkers and changemakers in an informal setting designed to spark conversation and collaboration.The series launches on Friday, March 15 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. with Alexandria Celebrates Women Salon: Policymakers & Changemakers, featuring women in elected office. Confirmed guests to date include Delegate Elizabeth Bennett-Parker, Alexandria City Councilmember Sarah Bagley, and Alexandria City Councilmember Alyia Gaskins. The event will take place at The Hub at Canal Center, located at 99 Canal Center in Old Town North.

“Women are leading the way in Alexandria in all areas — from City Hall, to the arts, to business,” said Alexandria Celebrates Women president Pat Miller. “Too often in today’s society, so-called discussion takes place behind a screen, with very little listening actually happening. We’re excited to bring women together to discuss ideas and share their incredible journeys.”

The event is free and open to all women; visit alexandriacelebrateswomen.com to register. Participants are encouraged to bring donations for the Alexandria Domestic Violence Safehouse’s pantry; needed items include nonperishable items like pasta, canned vegetables or fruits, salad dressing.
