New City Signage Reflects Lifted Parking Restrictions During Winter Months

ALEXANDRIA, VA–The City of Alexandria’s Department of Transportation and Environmental Services (T&ES) has updated signs in the City to reflect that “No Parking” restrictions related to street sweeping will be lifted for four months. The change in enforcement begins Nov. 1, with the end of City street sweeping for the season.

At its June 2018 meeting, the Traffic and Parking Board unanimously approved a suspension of “No Parking” restrictions for the months of November, December, January and February. T&ES does not currently sweep during winter months due to weather restrictions and operational conflicts.

The change in signage allows residents to remain parked on the street during the winter months, when T&ES is not sweeping.
