ALEXANDRIA, VA – When Mother Nature rained on our Paws in the Park parade, we knew Alexandria’s furry friends couldn’t miss their chance to show off their spooky, silly, and downright adorable Halloween looks. That’s why we’re thrilled to announce the Howl-o-Ween Party & Pet Costume Contest, happening Thursday, October 30 from 5:30–7:00 p.m. at The Alexandrian Hotel (480 King St., Alexandria)!

In partnership with Realtor Bobby Mahoney, Corcoran McEnearney, and The Alexandrian Hotel, the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria (AWLA) invites pet lovers to join us for an evening full of fun, furry fashion, and fantastic prizes.

🐾 Enter Your Pet:
Registration to enter your pet in the contest is a $25 donation to the AWLA — and every dollar helps animals in need. Pre-registration is required (no on-site entries), and space is limited, so don’t wait to sign up your costumed companion!

🏆 Prizes Include:

  • Spookiest Costume
  • Funniest Costume
  • Most Creative Costume
From those winners, one “Best in Show” will take home a $100 Chewy gift card!

👻 Spectators Welcome:
Not entering a pet? Come enjoy the show! The event is free to attend, and everyone is invited to cheer on Alexandria’s most fashionable furry friends as they strut the red carpet in their Halloween best. Humans are encouraged (but not required) to join the costume fun too!

🐕 Safety First:
For the comfort and safety of all guests, pets must be on non-retractable leashes (6 feet or shorter) or otherwise secured with species-appropriate gear. Please bring only pets comfortable in crowds and around other animals.
