Alexandria Pet Day THIS Sunday–Over 60 Vendors, Fun for Whole Family!

The Alexandria Love Your Pet Day Block Party will be this Sunday, April 29th from 11am-2pm in Alexandria’s West End (Roth & Colvin Streets). Celebrity vet Dr Katy Nelson of NewsChannel 8 will host the kick off at 11am (18 Roth St) with Mayor Allison Silberberg and City Council members. Along with special guests VA Delegate Charniele Herring and VA State Senator Adam Ebbin, they are excited to talk with constituents at this lively community event.

60+ local businesses and non-profits will be on-hand to interact with the more than 600 pet lovers expected.  Following are highlights from some of the participating organizations – we hope you will come cover this exciting event!  The full list of event sponsors, non-profits and vendors can be found here.

Del Ray Animal Hospital:  Now offering therapeutic laser therapy which can treat a multitude of symptoms and ailments; a noninvasive procedure that uses light to stimulate cell regeneration and increase blood circulation

Dog Gone Walking & Pet Care: Recently expanded services to offer Pet/Family Photography.

Four Paws Healing: Holistic healer Jeanie Mossa will be holding a demo showcasing her advice offered in recent article Pets: Easy and natural solutions for canine stress.

MeggRolls: On April 21st, celebrated the 1 year anniversary of opening it’s Old Town location, recently featured in America’s secret suburban food scenes.

Outside the Lines Pet Photography: Creating a book called “The Small Dogs of Alexandria” that will benefit local rescues, featuring small dogs in-and-around iconic areas in Alexandria with text giving info about the area and the dogs.  A significant portion of the initial client fee would go to benefit a local rescue along with 15% of additional purchases.  The end result will be a hardcover coffee table book featuring all the dogs from the project.

Operation Paws for Homes: Saving Lives: 300 Volunteers Power Operation Paws for Homes: Alexandria-based pet rescue organization has saved thousands of pets that would otherwise be killed at shelters.

Pedego Alexandria: Opening in Old Town on April 28th; donating $100 from each bike sale at Alexandria Love Your Pet Day to the participating non-profit of choice (up to $500).

Presidential Pet Care: Now has an app clients can use to easily schedule pet care services, view photo updates and even see a GPS-tagged map of the walking route their dog takes!  Also, accepting nominations for Alexandria’s 2018 Pet Superlatives! Attendees will have the opportunity to photograph and instantly submit photo nominations for contest prizes.

Smoking Kow BBQ: Smoking Kow Is Serving Barbecue Tacos and “Mac and Meat” Platters at Its New Alexandria Joint: The food truck operation has landed a brick-and-mortar spot.

Veterinary Holistic Center: A Bunny with Your Yoga in Springfield: Friends of Rabbits holds fundraiser at the Veterinary Holistic Center of Northern Virginia.
