Wed, January 31, Tutor Students that need help with their Reading
— Find out how being a tutor-mentor can provide a positive impact on a student’s life with Wright to Read’s virtual information session on Wednesday, January 31 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. This Campagna Center program will train and support adults who want to help elementary students that are struggling with reading.
Wed, February 7, Translate to Help Others Find Affordable Housing
— Housing Alexandria is hosting several interest sessions to promote the Low Income Housing Tax Credit and needs a Spanish translator to ensure the presentation is effectively communicated. The first session is scheduled on Wednesday, February 7, from 6 to 7 p.m.
Help Out In the Office at the Alexandria Seaport Foundation
— Greet visitors, provide administrative support, assist with donations, and maintain schedules for the Alexandria Seaport Foundation as their Office Manager.
Be a Board Member for an Organization Encouraging Girls to Read
— The Spitfire Club is an after-school program that encourages young girls to read. Spitfire is seeking a board member to help execute organizational strategy, raise funds, and be a public ambassador for the program.
Assist Non-English Speakers with Tax Filing
— Community Tax Aid, an organization that provides free tax filing and counseling for qualified individuals and families, is seeking bi-lingual client navigators to assist Spanish, Mandarin, or Amharic speakers with their taxes.
Tutor Students after school
— Yougins In Progress is looking for tutors for underclassmen boys at Alexandria City High School. Volunteers must complete a background check with Alexandria City Public Schools.
Deliver Groceries to Seniors
— Deliver groceries every other week to homebound people. Senior Services of Alexandria will provide a grocery list and instructions. Background check required.
