Coming April 4th: Celebrate the Alexandria Health Department

by Kevin Dauray

The Alexandria Health Department (AHD) is spreading the word that this year marks one hundred years of service in the Alexandria community. The AHD provides essential health services to citizens. To celebrate the occasion, the Department is hosting an open house at its main location at 4480 King Street on Thursday, April 4th from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Please note that the event is free to all. While there, you will find kiosks spotlighting each division. There will also be giveaways, refreshments…and for kids, fire trucks!

Citizens can also meet medical personnel and take part in a psychological first-aid training, given by the Medical Reserve Corps. This training will teach attendees how to help people experiencing trauma. To register, please send an email to [email protected] or call 703-746-4978.

Join the ADH as they mark this fantastic milestone and promote their mission of “Healthier People, Healthier Communities.” For more information, including a schedule of events, click the link above.
