Del Ray Music Festival

Experienced Volunteers Needed

Alexandria, VA – July 13 is a record setting day for Alexandria — this is the first event to be held with a brand new ABC law that will take effect July 1. The new law allows people to walk from one beer garden to another with their “beer” during an event but they are NOT allowed to leave the specific designated event area with their beer. Because the ABC Board is using the Del Ray Music Festival as pilot test for the entire state of Virginia, it is critical that this event takes place without any problems.

The Festival needs experienced and knowledgeable volunteers like yourself. Graduates of the Alexandria Community Police Academy are especially welcome!

There are eight entry/exit areas at the Festival area from 3 PM to 8 PM. Volunteers are needed to help monitor each of these entrances and exits. The Festival is held on Mt. Vernon Avenue between E. Custis and Uhler Avenues in Del Ray and with open beer gardens marked off.
Volunteers are needed for the following shifts:

2:30 – 4:30 PM
4:30 – 6:30 PM
6:30 – 9:00 PM

Consider volunteering for one of the shifts. Please contact Pat Miller
at [email protected] if you are interested.

Your help is greatly appreciated!
