ALEXANDRIA, VA – Alexandria chef-owner Mimi Huynh of modern Vietnamese restaurant Sunday in Saigon at 682 N. St. Asaph Street and chef Chris Edwards of newly opened Hank & Mitzi’s Italian Kitchen, located at 600 Montgomery Street, will appear on Food Network’s “Chopped” tomorrow night.
The episode called “Want a Gnocchi Sandwich” will air tomorrow, Tuesday, Sept. 29 at 9:00 p.m.
The competing chefs are under pressure as the clock ticks down and the judges wonder whether all the steak and dandelion green appetizers will be plated in time. In the entree basket, the chefs get more than they bargained for with gnocchi in sandwich form. Finally, the judges dispense pearls of wisdom after eating desserts that include balsamic pearls.
“Tune in to see her bring her modern Vietnamese cuisine flair to the big screen. It’ll be phở-nom-enal! said Sunday in Saigon in a social media post.
Both Sunday in Saigon and Hank & Mitzi’s shared the news on social media.
“We can’t wait to see what he will cook up!” said Hank and Mitzi’s.
