The Alexandria Sheriff’s Office recently welcomed seven new deputies to its ranks. On Monday, May 21, Clerk of the Circuit Court Edward Semonian administered the oath of office to Deputy Gladys Corea, Deputy Omar Herring and Deputy Taylor Mallow during a short ceremony at the Alexandria Courthouse. Sheriff Dana Lawhorne congratulated the recruits and then asked their family members and friends to join him in presenting their badges. The deputies will learn Sheriff’s Office policies and procedures, CPR and first aid, control and defensive tactics, and other important practices before beginning field training.
