Mount Vernon Community Children’s Theatre Presents Shrek The Musical, Tickets Available

Fairytale Forest Fun for All Ages

Mount Vernon Community Children’s Theatre is presenting the Tony Award-winning Shrek The Musical starring 46 talented local youth from more than 22 area schools.  Shrek will be performed Nov. 9–18 at Bryant Alternative High School Auditorium in Alexandria, VA.

An unlikely hero, Shrek finds himself on a life-changing journey alongside the wisecracking Donkey and a feisty princess who resists her rescue. Featuring fantastic songs from Jeanine Tesori and a sidesplitting script by David Lindsay-Abaire, Shrek The Musical brings the beloved characters you know from the film to life on their way to discovering that friendship and love aren’t only found in fairytales.  Shrek The Musical is irreverent fun for the whole family and proves that beauty is truly in the eye of the ogre.

Under the direction of Lara Press (Hairspray, TC Williams), the creative team includes Musical Director Amy Conley (Signature Theatre, Pallas Theatre Collective), Scenic Designer Suzanne Parrish, Lighting Designer Ian Claar and Stage Manager Derek Farino.
