RockDeep Shoe and Athletic Wear Store Opening in Del Ray
By Amanda Socci
Del Ray residents Rocky and Desiree Parrish are taking their internet retail shoe and athletic wear brand RockDeep to a new level when they open the doors of their flagship retail outlet at 2400 Mount Vernon Avenue in mid-February.
On a recent Sunday afternoon in his comfortable corporate headquarters on North Union Street in Old Town, Rocky Parrish enthusiastically shared the RockDeep story. Mostly what you take away from this guy is how positive he is. You believe he really can change the world with a shoe and a new-fangled sweatshirt.
This guy is driven. A background in marketing and media works in Rocky’s favor, along with the ten years he spent working as a consultant for major shoe brands, including Nike, learning all about sneakers and the business of selling a quality shoe.
Parrish is getting ready to tool a factory in Vicksburg, Mississippi to manufacture his product. The company already has 20,000 followers on Facebook and he maintains a very interesting blog on the company’s website in which he shares his dreams and even his failures, like the Omega Psi Phi 1911, the boot that never happened.
RockDeep’s signature brand, RAX, offers men and women general, sneaker and winter-style boots, as well as shoes for every sport imaginable, including chukkas, hiking, running, trail running, casual, distance, retro, skate, sport, softball, golf, disc golf, turf and training.
In addition to shoes with enough options to boggle the mind, customers can buy signature outerwear, including fleece jackets, coats and pants, and RockDeep will be introducing a children’s line this summer.
Pricing is moderate. Running shoes average $60 to $85; outerwear starts at less than $25. You can learn more about RockDeep here: https://www.rockdeep.com.
If you want to find out more about the store it will be a dual concept store which includes my wife’s store http://www.RDevine.com
While she is the reason we got here, I wanted to make sure she gets some shine and our story is told because without her ROCKDEEP would NOT be where it is. Thank you sooo much Amanda for coming out and interviewing us.
It was a great time and we look forward to seeing more of your work.
