Chef Guo Reopens After 8 Month Closure

Chef Guo has reopened its authentic Chinese banquet in Alexandria.

ALEXANDRIA, VA—After closing on March 16 due to the pandemic, Alexandria’s authentic, high-end Chinese restaurant, Chef Guo, will be reopening today, Thursday November 12, after eight months of closure.

“We didn’t expect Covid-19,” says manager Irene Qin, “We were worried. I believe Covid is one of the most difficult times for everyone.” A reservation-only restaurant, Chef Guo was forced to close its doors when Covid-19 first struck. Today, after implementing strict safety protocols of social distancing and limited seating, Chef Guo warmly welcomes its customers to experience its unique sixteen-course menu.

Chef Guo offers dining availability every Thursday through Sunday, allowing ten reservations a day at two available times: 6pm and 8:30pm. With extensive preparation involved, the course takes about 2 ½ hours to complete. Over the sixteen courses included in the Chinese themed banquet, customers will taste a variable selection of organic health-foods from all over the world. It is Chef Guo’s philosophy to provide a balance of both nutrition and flavor for its patrons.

Chef Guo also welcomes special occasion dinners, for anniversaries or birthdays, and it is accommodating for a range of food restrictions, like gluten-free or vegan.

“We survived and more people are getting to enjoy our concept. You cannot find anyone like us,” Irene explains. “It’s exciting to see how customers are reacting to the reopening.” It is no doubt customers are equally as excited to return.
