Alexandria, VA – Attention Alexandrians! Friends of Guest House, which helps women reenter society after incarceration, needs help raising $5,000 to buy a new, eight-passenger van. The van will help the organization drive their 26 residents to weekly therapy sessions and move clients to permanent housing.
Friends of Guest House has already raised $23,000 for a Toyota Sienna.
“We have almost all the funds, but we need your help with the last $5,000,” according to a Friends of Guest House email. “The van is an essential part of our daily routine.”
All donations up to $3,000 are being matched by two unnamed donors. Early giving begins on May 15, and the deadline to donate is noon on May 23.
