Vote Much? October 15 is the Deadline to Register or Update Your Virginia Voter Registration

Democracy requires voters. Are you registered to vote, or is your address updated?

Alexandria, VA – Democracy requires voters. Are you registered to vote, or is your address updated? The worst is realizing on election day that your information isn’t up to date, and you just spent all that time in line waiting to vote at your local polling precinct and end up walking unfulfilled back to your car. Democracy had to carry on without you this time.

DEADLINE DAY

In other words, Tuesday, October 15 is the deadline to register or update your Virginia voter registration to vote in the upcoming Nov. 5 election.

Have you moved recently?

Make sure you’re registered at your current address at vote.elections.virginia.gov or by contacting [email protected], or by calling 703-746-4050.

New applications can be completed online at vote.elections.virginia.gov before midnight

You can also register in person at the Office of Voter Registration and Elections, 132 N. Royal St., Suite 100, by 5 p.m. Download an application at the City’s Election Page, print, sign and mail the completed form to the Office of Voter Registration and Elections, 132 N. Royal St., Suite 100, Alexandria, VA 22314. Applications must be postmarked on or before October 15.

Who’s on the ballot? 

The November 5 ballot in Alexandria includes contests for Virginia State Senate (30th, 35th or 39th District) and House of Delegates (45th or 46th District) as well as Alexandria Clerk of Court.

All regular polling places will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
