Do You Have a Vehicle to Donate to Support Seniors?

Alexandria, VA – Senior Services of Alexandria (SSA) is serving more older adults than ever to keep seniors safe in their homes during this global crisis. Now, as we’re looking for new ways to help raise much-needed funds, SSA has embarked on a vehicle donation program through Meals on Wheels America, partnering with CARS (Charitable Adult Rides & Services), a California-based nonprofit that manages vehicle donation programs for thousands of nonprofits in North America.
Anyone donating a vehicle through the CARS service can designate SSA to receive a percentage of the profits from later sale of the vehicle to put toward our Senior Nutrition program, including Meals on Wheels. Donors incur no cost to use CARS. All expenses are deducted from the gross sales price. If costs ever exceed the price, those costs are covered by CARS. A local tow company will pick up your donated vehicle.
As we are staying safe at home and taking stock of our unneeded belongings, don’t forget about your used vehicles. All vehicles are considered, whether running or not, including cars, trucks, trailers, boats, RVs, motorcycles, campers, off-road vehicles, planes, heavy equipment, farm machinery, and most other motorized vehicles.
