ALEXANDRIA, VA – Three Alexandria Sheriff’s Deputies and an Alexandria Policewoman have been recognized for the actions they took to save multiple lives. On Oct. 28, the group was honored the George Washington Chapter of the Virginia Sons of the American Revolution.

Deputy Jason Bebow and Deputy Julio Ocasio were honored for their rescue of an inmate who had attempted suicide at the Alexandria City Jail. Deputy Devon Neckles and Officer Shakita Warren were honored for their successful intervention with a suicidal resident.

At a presentation, three Chapter representatives – Vice President Tom Roth, Public Safety Awards Chair John Blair, and Public Service Awards Committee Member David Kuhnsman – awarded the four public servants with certificates and medals for their responses to the emergencies.

Sheriff Dana Lawhorne, Police Assistant Chief Don Hayes, and command staff representatives from both agencies attended the presentation at the Sheriff’s Office.

The rescuers are being considered for further recognition by the Virginia State Society of the Sons of the American Revolution.
