Preventing a Fall: Organizations Supporting Alexandria’s Seniors Host Film Screening and Panel Discussion

ALEXANDRIA, VA-As adults grow older, falls become more likely. In fact, the CDC says 36 million falls are reported each year. There are 32,000 deaths linked to falls, and three million older adults are treated in the ER for falls.

Senior Services of Alexandria and At Home in Alexandria have teamed up for an event focused on how to prevent them from happening. Scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 21 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Beatley Central Library (5005 Duke St.), the event welcomes a panel of experts, there to speak about the importannce of fall prevention.

It begins however with a screening of the film, “Saving Claire,” which SSA describes in a press release as “about the spiraling consequences of a fall.”
