Alexandria, VA – Old Town North was designated the City’s Arts and Cultural District in 2017 to create a vibrant Arts and Cultural Destination for Alexandria. The district is growing with two arts organizations in Old Town North: MetroStage at Venue and The Art League at Muse.
Producing Artistic Director of MetroStage Carolyn Griffin says about their soon-to-come theater space at Venue on N. Fairfax St, “We are certainly excited. It is getting closer and closer and will be a beautiful fit for the neighborhood.”
An Arts Walk and Gallery Space for the Art League is also coming soon to Muse on N. Royal St. This space will expand both the exhibition and classroom space of the Art League’s Madison Street Annex and will be open to all.
These arts anchors in Old Town North will encourage additional visual and performing arts along the arts corridor of N. Fairfax St., a boon to artists, residents, visitors, and small businesses in Old Town North and throughout the City of Alexandria. Both properties will include a mix of market-rate and affordable residences and art and cultural space.
