ALEXANDRIA, VA – The Del Ray Farmers’ Market footprint is expanding to accommodate social distancing, thanks to the generous support of Bonaventure Realty Group.

As the City of Alexandria moves into Phase 2, the Del Ray Farmers’ Market is expanding to the parking lot across Oxford Avenue to accommodate additional vendors and walk-up customers.  Farmers primarily offering produce will be located at the traditional market location — the Pat Miller Neighborhood Square, located at the intersection of Mt. Vernon Avenue and Oxford Ave.  Vendors offering meat, fish, dairy, baked goods, and prepared foods will be located in the parking lot across Oxford Avenue.

“Bonaventure has donated space in the parking lot across Oxford for us to use in order to have a larger footprint in order to maintain social distancing,” said Market Manager Pat Miller.  “We’re thrilled that we can continue to care for our community by offering the opportunity to purchase fresh, local food in a safe, outdoor market.”

The Del Ray Farmers’ Market takes place every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.  While the Market encourages pre-orders as a way to help make things run more efficiently and maintain social distance, walk-up customers are also welcome.  For information on participating vendors, visit www.delrayfarmersmarket.com.

At press time, the following vendors will be located in the Pat Miller Neighborhood Square: Biggs Family Farm, The Threeway Farm, Shlagel Farms, Toigo Orchards and Smith Meadows.  Vendors in the new footprint across the street from Oxford:  Tom’s Cheese Store, Honey Brook, Fork & Hoe, Conchita’s Salsas, Grace’s Bakery, Baked by Yael, St. Elmo’s Coffee Pub, Hog Haven, Fresh Crunch, Cold Country Salmon, Kings Mushrooms, Ana’s Twist and Ashbank Farm.

The Del Ray Farmers’ Market is an award-winning food and plant-based market located in the heart of one of Alexandria, Virginia’s most vibrant and diverse neighborhoods. During the peak season, there are more than 20 farmers and vendors offering fruits and vegetables, meat, poultry, fish, eggs, cheeses, breads, fresh pasta, baked goods and cut flowers.  For more information, visit www.delrayfarmersmarket.com,
