Hundreds Dress in Christmas Costumes for Del Ray Candy Cane Bar Crawl

ALEXANDRIA, VA–On Saturday, Dec. 11, Alexandrians came out in droves to Del Ray for the Candy Cane Bar Crawl, adorned in holiday attire.
Each Christmas-clad attendee had a chance to win one of three prizes in the Candy Cane Bar Crawl Costume Contest.
Best Single Costume – $50 Kiskadee gift certificate
Best Couple Costume – $50 Lena’s Wood—Fired Pizza & Tap gift certificate
Best Group Costume $75 Taqueria Poblano gift certificate
Between 12:30 and about 5pm, the Zebra judges saw dozens if not hundreds of contestants dressed in their best.
We saw lots of creative, clever, collaborative, classic, and cute costumes that caught our eyes and stole our hearts, but we could only pick three. At approximately 5:55pm, the three winners were announced at Pork Barrel BBQ.
Best Single Costume – Ryan Ostrye, The Eclectic Santa
Best Couple Costume – Emily Gilmore and Alexander Lenski, The Kilted Christmas
Best Group Costume (4 or more) – Ben & McCall Casa and daughters, Three Santas and a Baby Rudolph
It was a tough decision, but ultimately the winners were chosen based on overall Del Ray holiday spirit.
