ALEXANDRIA SOUTH, VA – Anne Andrews was hard to resist. She was relentless in her determination to provide basic human services to all along the Route 1 corridor and she never took no for an answer — just ask all the government officials she bent to her will over the years through the South County Task Force she founded in 1975.
A fervent advocate for homeless shelters and affordable housing, physical and mental health services and voting rights, she never accepted being rejected or ignored on any issue dear to her heart.
She just kept fighting.
Anne passed away in December. Hear about her major contributions to Mount Vernon and Lee life as well as her inimitable ways of achieving them and contribute stories and comments of your own on Zoom this Thursday. March 10, from 3-4 pm.
