ALEXANDRIA, VA – Mae’s Market and Café, 277 S. Washington Street, is the perfect location to enjoy a scrumptious bite with a friend and watch the bustle of Old Town Alexandria out the window or from their sidewalk tables.

Newly opened last October, it’s an all-day market where you can enjoy home-made bakery items, salads and gourmet sandwiches.  Tasty, as well as incredibly beautiful coffees are prepared as ordered.  You will also find small grocery items, made-from-scratch prepared meals, pantry staples, produce, charcuterie, craft beer, wine and more.

My friend and I each chose one of Mae’s special “Quiches of the Day”.  She chose the pimento cheese with bacon and parmesan, and I tried the spinach, feta cheese and chili flakes piece.  We both thoroughly loved our quiches, which were served at room temperature with “farmer’s greens”.  And our coffees were so beautiful.  She had a latte with almond milk and I tried the cappuccino and we both agreed on how delicious they were. We will definitely return soon to sample more of their menu!

Mae’s Market and Café is located at 277 S. Washington Street.  They are open Monday through Saturday 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Sunday 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.  For menus and more information, please visit their website or follow them on Facebook.
