New Year’s Eve. 35 Indoor Stages. 50 Awesome Performers

Alexandria’s Melodious Mile from the Rail to the River

For the 24th year, Alexandria is the setting for the mid-Atlantic region’s largest family-friendly, and interactive New Year’s Eve celebration – First Night Alexandria.

This year’s festival of music, guaranteed to engage and entertain everyone from Babies to Boomers, includes a diverse collection of performances and activities starting at 2pm. Nearly 30 venues between the GW Masonic Memorial and the waterfront, along the King Street corridor, will open their doors for First Night performers, including retailers, churches, museums, libraries, private clubs, offices, city hall, theaters, and hotels.

The must-see finale at midnight features DJ Ray Casiano with dancing at the new King Street Park on the waterfront followed by a spectacular fireworks display over the Potomac River.

Live Performances

This year’s entertainment is off the charts, literally. From jazz to old school, classical to country, Irish to rock. Patrons will enjoy magicians, comedy, spoken word, a silent disco and much more. Anchor performers will be an Earth, Wind & Fire Tribute Band at the Masonic Temple and Bill Kirchen and Too Much Fun at the Torpedo Factory.

In its 10th year, the ever-popular Fun Hunt, through Old Town, takes participants on a scavenger-styled walking exploration for a chance to win great prizes.
