More than 30 Vendors from across the Mid-Atlantic Region
Celebrate the start of the new gardening season with the American Horticultural Society (AHS) at its Spring Garden Market at River Farm in Alexandria, Virginia, taking place on Friday, April 13 and Saturday, April 14. More than 30 vendors from across the Mid-Atlantic region will offer a large selection of plants, including vegetable seedlings, natives, unusual trees, and pollinator favorites. Garden art, tools, and other horticultural accessories will be available, and Master Gardeners will be on hand to answer gardening questions.
“This is a great opportunity to support local growers and shop for some terrific plants you won’t find other places,” says Dan Scott, AHS’s Associate Director of Gardens and Facilities, “Proceeds from this event also support River Farm, a community green space that relies on private funding to operate.”
Other highlights of the Spring Garden Market include Kino Alpaca Criations’ adorable alpacas to pet and feed (products made from their wool will be available for purchase), delicious food from Rocklands Barbeque and Grilling Company, and a free raffle for gardening goodies. Guests will have access to a limited selection of carts and wagons for toting purchases, but are encouraged to bring their own.
Hours will be from 10 am to 4 pm both days of this event. Parking is $10 (cash only) per car; waived for AHS members showing a current membership card or other proof of membership such as an online receipt.
