ALEXANDRIA, VA-Beginning Monday, Feb. 8, a federal law will require all users of public transit to wear masks. Passengers without a mask will not be permitted on DASH buses. Masks must cover a person’s nose and mouth while waiting for, boarding, traveling, and exciting buses.

The law, signed by President Biden on Jan. 21 and covering national and international travel, is meant to stop the spread of COVID-19.

Similar to people not wearing masks, those who refuse to do so will not be allowed to ride. Taking off a mask after boarding will result in that person’s removal as soon as is safely possible.

DASH maintains a supply of masks for use. If needed, ask the bus operator.
