Alexandria, VA – The Life Guard Society of Historic Mount Vernon, named after the elite group of soldiers responsible for the safety of George Washington, is dedicated to supporting the mission of the Mount Vernon Ladies Association. At its gala fundraiser earlier this fall, the society arranged for the renowned Inn at Little Washington’s Michelin 3-star Chef Patrick O’Connell to create the evening’s menu. The more than $500,000 raised will fund two projects at Mount Vernon, a curatorial restoration of the Historic Kitchen and a revitalization of the George Washington’s Biography exhibition in the Education Center.
