Alexandria, VA – On Sunday, October 16, Paws in the Park, Alexandria’s largest pet event and annual Animal Welfare League fundraiser, saw hundreds of residents, two-legged and four, gathered in Oronoco Bay Park.

The day was designed for maximum fun for everyone, children, parents, pets, businesses, nonprofits, and sponsors. Along Pendleton Street, over 40 vendors’ tents lined up. Beyond that, facing the water, was Rescue Row, showcasing all the participating animal rescues and their adoptable animals. The food court and beer and wine garden set up along Madison Street.

Paw in the Park 2022 was successful for AWLA and the vendors, and nearly all the adoptable animals went home with forever families afterward. AWLA is already planning for next year.
