Second Annual Del Ray GardenFest Coming April 23 to Mt. Vernon Ave. in Alexandria

ALEXANDRIA, VA– Del Ray’s second annual GardenFest, organized by the Del Ray Citizens Association, will take place from 12-4 p.m. on Sunday, April 23 at 2207 Mount Vernon Avenue.

The event is a free, outdoor educational festival of garden-focused demonstrations. Find informational booths and activities for all ages. Learn about a wide variety of gardening topics such as at-home composting, rainwater recovery, beekeeping, and more.  Hundreds of native tree seedlings and thousands of fruit/vegetable/herb seeds will be given to attendees — free!

The city will also present the Ellen Pickering Environmental Excellence Award during the festival.  Details will be posted HERE at the date gets closer.

Some of the businesses hosting exhibits include: The Del Ray Farmers’ Market / Power of Produce, AlexRenew, The Dog Store, Port City Flowers, Gardener’s Helper, and Grangel Farm.

Lost Boy Cider, the only urban cidery in the area, is hosting a cider garden at Garden Fest. Sip on refreshing hard cider while enjoying all the vendors and activities throughout the event.
