From the classical to contemporary compositions, the National Chamber Ensemble's internationally-acclaimed musicians provide outstanding performances of chamber music in an intimate setting.
ALEXANDRIA, VA — On May 27, 2023, from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. in Arlington’s Gunston Arts Center, the National Chamber Ensemble (NCE) will conclude its season with a concert of masterworks by some of Europe’s greatest composers.
The featured work will be the Piano Quintet in A Major by Antonin Dvorak, a composition which features a string quartet paired with a grand piano. The Dvorak Quintet is one of the best examples of late Romantic chamber music and a great way to end the NCE’s Sweet 16 Season. Other European masters represented in the program are Franz Schubert, Mikhail Glinka and Luigi Boccherini.
NCE artists for this performance are Leo Sushansky (violin / artistic director), Jorge Orozco (violin), Uri Wassertzug (viola), Vasily Popov (cello) and Carlos Rodriguez (piano).
