Mt. Vernon’s Environment Expo Celebrates Earth Day

Alexandria, VA – Mount Vernon celebrated Earth Day with its 5th Annual Environment Expo in Fort Hunt Park. The family-friendly event featured displays, learning opportunities, reptiles, owls, and live music by the Anthony James Band. Mount Vernon Supervisor Dan Storck and the National Park Service George Washington Memorial Parkway sponsored it.

The demonstrations included solar cooking.
Among the conservation partners was the Fairfax County Department of Public Works and Environmental Services which provided information on stormwater and wastewater management.
