Alexandria, VA – Del Ray’s monthly summer festival, First Thursday, celebrated the red, white, and brews in July. Congratulations to Jesse “The Jaw” O’Connell, winner of the 1st Annual Del Ray Hot Dog Eating Contest; to Del Ray Cornhole Tournament Champions Ben Correia and Timmy Irwin; and to Pork Barrel BBQ Watermelon Seed Spittin’ Contest two-time champion Brett Rice and under-ten champion Genevieve Ertley. This event, presented by the Del Ray Business Association and sponsored by The Jen Walker Team, raised money for Rebuilding Together Alexandria.
Save the date for First Thursday: Star Wars Day in a Neighborhood Far, Far Away on Thursday, September 1, from 6 pm to dusk along Mount Vernon Avenue in the heart of Del Ray.
