Adopt a Pet in Alexandria: Meet Sapphire

ALEXANDRIA, VA-Look no further than this gem of a pup! Sapphire is a 1-year-old dog who is searching for a home where she can shine. We know from her time in a foster home that Sapphire is intelligent, nearly totally house trained and crate trained. She quickly learned the foster home’s routine and settled into the family’s lifestyle seamlessly. She enjoys yard zoomies and playing with toys. She is easy to correct if she’s chewing on something she’s not supposed to. AWLA staff knows from her previous family that she got along with kids and other animals. They think Sapphire would make a wonderful companion for a variety of families. If Sapphire sounds like a real jewel, come meet her at the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria.

The AWLA is located at 4101 Eisenhower Ave. Founded in 1946, the AWLA has supported and served as a resource for homeless animals. The organization remains an integral part of the community by providing opportunities for adoption, spay and neuter assistance, education, and outreach. To learn more, visit alexandriaanimals.org.
