Embark on an Adventure for a Cause: “14 Stories of New Hope” Go Over the Edge with New Hope Housing
Newbies Welcome! Join the Fun June 14
Alexandria, VA – Now in its third year, the “14 Stories of New Hope” fundraiser by New Hope Housing invites thrill-seekers to Go Over the Edge at the Hilton National Landing on June 14, 2024, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. This daring adventure promises an exhilarating 160-ft descent down the Hilton Hotel and aims to raise awareness about homelessness and support New Hope Housing’s mission to end homelessness in the Northern Virginia area.
The event kicks off at 9 a.m., offering a day full of excitement. Rappellers, braving the descent, invite friends and family to witness their daring feat from “The Landing Zone”—an all-day Block Party at the hotel’s base featuring food, a DJ, fun activities, and booths from event sponsors. Everyone is welcome to attend and be part of this impactful day.
New Hope Housing envisions a home and a bright future for every member of our community. Since 1978, the organization has been providing comprehensive and innovative services to homeless families and single adults, making them the oldest and largest provider of shelter beds in northern Virginia.
“We offer innovative and lasting solutions to end the cycle of homelessness by guiding and supporting individuals and providing the services they need to change their lives,” says Ashley McSwain, Executive Director at New Hope Housing.
Funds raised from this event play a vital role in supporting housing assistance programs, providing nourishing meals for shelter guests, facilitating life skills and educational programs, offering employment assistance, and supplying everyday essentials. Notable sponsors for this year’s event include Amazon, Greg Garcia (television producer and creator of My Name is Earl), TTR Sotheby’s International Realty, Hilton Arlington National Landing, Deloitte, Modern Technology Solutions, Inc., and Virginia Housing.
The overarching goal for this year’s event is to raise $200,000. These funds will directly contribute to New Hope Housing’s mission, ensuring the provision of shelter and permanent housing in the Northern Virginia community. “TTR Sotheby’s International Realty is proud to be the presenting sponsor of New Hope Housing’s 14 Stories of New Hope fundraiser this year. As real estate professionals, we understand the importance of a safe and happy place to call home and we are grateful to partner with New Hope Housing to make that a reality for all our neighbors,” says Mark Lowham, CEO & Managing Partner, TTR-Sotheby’s International Realty.
