SSA’s “Senior Living in Alexandria” November 20th Event: Volunteer and Stay Engaged in Retirement!
Alexandria, VA – The Senior Services of Alexandria’s November 20th speaker series will interest anyone looking to make a difference through volunteering or engaging in an area where you want to make a difference. As baby boomers are retiring and thinking about their next chapter, volunteering is one way to feel needed and put work skills to use in helping local nonprofits.
This event occurs at Beth El Hebrew Congregation, 3930 Seminary Road, from 10:00 am to noon. There will be speakers from various nonprofits, including Computer Core and ALIVE! Several other nonprofits will attend for participants to talk to about their missions. There is something for everyone, from helping with animals, tutoring children, helping older adults, or learning more about our city’s history. This is a perfect time of year to come and see what the needs are as we head into the holiday season.
This event is free, open to the public, and has plenty of parking. Please register by email at [email protected] or call Senior Services at 703-823-4414, ext. 110. We look forward to seeing you on November 20th!
