Senior Services of Alexandria Names Four Honorees for 2025 Gala

Event scheduled for March 25 at Westin Alexandria Old Town

ALEXANDRIA, VA-In its January newsletter, Senior Services of Alexandria announced the names of four individuals who will be honored during its 2025 Annual Gala. They are: Jack Fannon,  Jane King, The Zebra Press’s own Lucelle O’Flaherty, and Colonel (Ret.) James Paige.

“These individuals have been advocates for older adults in our city as well as many other causes,” the newsletter reads. “They have dedicated their lives to service, and we are fortunate to honor them this year.”

Fannon is a fourth-generation Alexandrian and Chief Operating Officer of Thomas J. Fannon & Sons. He is the president-elect of the Rotary Club of Alexandria and a former board member and Board Chair of SSA.

King has lived in Alexandria for over 40 years. As an AARP employee when it introduced its program to help communities become age friendly, she encouraged the development of a plan as a member of the Commission on Aging.

O’Flaherty is part of a three-generation Alexandria family. The O’Flahertys have a track record of making a difference in the community and the world. After retiring from Wells Fargo Mortgage, she joined The Zebra as a reporter and photographer. She is currently the paper’s community liaison and you can often find her reporting live on Facebook.

Col. Paige served for nearly three decades in the U.S. Army. Now retired, he is Executive Director of the Concerned Citizens Network of Alexandria. As an advocate for health, education, and social justice, he is committed to community services.
