For 11th Year and 24 Hours Straight, Pat Malone Will Stand Up to Cancer

ALEXANDRIA, VA-This year Pat Malone is standing stand up to cancer once more. On Feb. 10, beginning at 4:26 p.m., he will stand up for 24 hours straight to raise money for Stand Up to Cancer, the nonprofit that exists to help save the lives of people fighting the disease. Malone’s fundraiser ends at 4:26 p.m. on Feb. 11.

What’s significant about the time? It’s the moment he awoke from a 7-hour surgery on Feb. 11, 2014, at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center to remove a malignant tumor from his shoulder the size of a hockey puck.
The 67-year-old Air Force veteran, who served his country for 20 years, has been cancer-free for the last decade. To donate to Stand Up to Cancer and join Pat in his effort, you can donate in person or click HERE.
All proceeds from the fundraiser will go toward Stand Up to Cancer’s research programs to end cancer.
Based on statistics colllected from the National Cancer Institute (NCI), cancer will affect one in two men and one in three women in their lifetimes. By 2050, NCI predicts that new cases of cancer will nearly double.
