Explore Space at the Alexandria Teen Science Cafe Dec. 13

Event at Chinquapin Rec Center to welcome spearkers from NASA and NSF

ALEXANDRIA, VA-The Alexandria Teen Science Cafe is a free monthly meeting that gives students a chance to explore the science that plays a part in their everyday lives. The new season of meetings begins Friday, Feb. 13 at Chinquapin Rec Center (3210 King St.). The event starts at 3:30 p.m. and ends at 5:30 p.m., which means students can stop by after school.

The topic for Friday’s meeting is Science and Space Travel. Zohreh Khoshnamak, CEO of Chrysalis Development Group, which runs the Teen Science Cafe Network, said via email that the gathering “a great opportunity for students to learn about the latest in space travel technology, discover educational and career paths, and connect with potential mentors—all while enjoying coffee and refreshments.”

Speakers include representatives of the National Science Foundation, NASA, and the Air Force Academy.
