ALEXANDRIA, VA – Long time, Alexandria, Virginia resident Ann Guiffre passed away unexpectedly and peacefully on March 5, 2025, at her cottage in Bayleigh Chase Retirement Community in Easton, MD. At her time of death, she was with her husband, Joe, daughter, Teresa and son-in-law Tom.

Ann was born in Nashville, TN on April 16, 1936, to Joyce Howard McWilliams and Herbert Mitchell McWilliams. She was an only child for seven years, being raised by her mother, father, grandmother and three of her four aunts. She would often brag about being raised by “five mothers”. At the age of seven she became a sister to her “baby brother” Herby.

She attended Bailey’s Crossroads School and Falls Church High School and graduated from George Washington High School in Alexandria. While attending Bailey’s Crossroads, she was voted “Miss Bailey’s Crossroads.”

It was at Falls Church High School where she met her husband Joe, and they remained sweethearts for over 73 years! Ann was in the founding group for the Catholic Charities Annual Ball, which has become very successful. Once Ann’s children were grown, she helped Joe with his beer distributorship. Where she seemed to find the most joy was in the small details in the large accomplishments of her grandchildren.

Paul, Patrick, and Cooper Guiffre and Casey, Jennifer and Amy Hebbel, and 10 great-grandchildren, as well as nieces and nephews too numerous to mention, but never too many for Ann to love.

A viewing will be held on Friday, March 14, 2025, at 10 AM, followed by the funeral mass at 11 AM at Good Shepherd Catholic Church at 8710 Mount Vernon Highway, Alexandria, VA 22309.
