Saturday, March 23, 9 to 11 a.m., Clean-up Holmes Run Park — Help improve Holmes Run and the surrounding community in a park clean-up, hosted by the 4600 Condominium Association. Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.

Friday, March 28, 2 to 6 p.m., Crafting for a Cause and Social Hour — Participate in a project that benefits child and educational enrichment while socializing with others, with Volunteer Alexandria.

Tuesday, April 1, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Become a Volunteer During Emergencies — The Volunteer Reception Center is hosting a 6-week training that prepares people to assist the city during a disaster. Training begins Tuesday, April 1 and continues on April 3, 8, 15, 17, and 24 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Saturday, April 6, 2:30 to 9:30 p.m., Photograph or Record a Gala — The Prevention of Blindness is looking for a photographer and a videographer to capture the people and moments of their annual Prevention of Blindness Gala.

Tuesday, April 8, Scoop Ice Cream for a Cause – Scoop ice cream, distribute flyers, or provide support at the annual Ben & Jerry’s Free Cone Day, to support the Child & Family Network Center. Volunteers get free ice cream after their shift.

Friday, April 11, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Distribute Food for Alexandria Residents — The Department of Community and Human Services is seeking volunteers to sort and distribute groceries for distribution to people experiencing food insecurity.

Saturday, April 12, 11 a.m. to noon, Develop a Family Emergency Plan — This Volunteer Alexandria workshop will help you and your family create a family emergency communication plan in the event disaster strikes.

Tutor Students or Led Career Readiness Workshops — Tutor students in academic subject areas or lead career readiness workshops to help youth prepare for the workforce, with the Sheltercare Program of Northern Virginia.
