Swing for Pink: Celebrating 20 Years of Breast Cancer Philanthropy
Annual event has raised more than $283,000 since its inception

Alexandria, VA – It’s time for Swing for Pink again – this year is the 20th anniversary of this annual community fundraiser. Our mission began at the former Mt. Vernon Athletic Club to honor our fellow tennis club members afflicted with breast cancer and to educate women about the importance of mammography for early detection. The event has evolved into a full social evening where tennis and pickleball players are joined by individuals from the community to give back, have fun and band together to support those who are battling breast cancer.
This year’s event will be held on October 4, from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. at Burke Racquet and Swim Club. It includes round robin tennis and pickleball, a social mixer with light food, silent auction, and a 50/50 raffle. In honor of our 20th year of philanthropy, we are offering two amazing trips in the silent auction: Under the Tuscan Sun (Cortona, Italy, vacation package) and The Ultimate Scottsdale Golf Getaway in Paradise Valley, AZ. The 20th Annual SWING FOR PINK Breast Cancer Charity Event is again partnering with Inova Schar Cancer’s Breast Cancer Programs at the Breast Care Institute at Inova Mount Vernon Hospital and the Joseph Viar and Bonnie Christ Cancer Center at Inova Alexandria Hospital along with the Inova Peterson Life with Cancer. Since 2006, Swing for Pink has raised more than $283,400 to support patients within our community.
