🍕 Costco Pentagon City Food Court Closing Temporarily for Major Renovation

Loyal customers may have to satisfy their cravings for Costco pizza and hot dogs somewhere else.

Alexandria VA – Fans of Costco’s famous pizza slices, hot dogs, and chicken bakes will soon need to make alternate lunch plans. The food court inside Costco Wholesale in Pentagon City has temporarily closed as part of a large-scale renovation project expected to modernize the popular dining area over the next several weeks.

Construction officially began Tuesday and is expected to last between eight and 10 weeks. While the store itself will remain open during renovations, the food court will be unavailable to shoppers throughout the project.Much of the construction work will take place overnight in an effort to minimize disruption for customers shopping during regular business hours.

The renovation is part of a substantial $9.6 million overhaul designed to upgrade the warehouse retailer’s food preparation and dining operations. Plans include demolition of the existing food court and installation of a completely redesigned space featuring updated kitchen equipment, fixtures, and serving areas.

In addition to the revamped food court, the project will also include improvements to bakery and deli equipment, a redesigned sushi section, and an expansion of the building’s electrical mezzanine to support the upgraded operations.

For many shoppers, the closure means temporarily saying goodbye to one of Costco’s most beloved traditions: inexpensive comfort food after a bulk shopping trip. The Pentagon City location is especially popular among office workers, families, and commuters looking for quick and affordable meals in the busy Arlington retail corridor. Despite the temporary inconvenience, the upgrades are expected to modernize the customer experience and improve efficiency once the renovation is complete.

The Pentagon City Costco remains one of the busiest warehouse locations in the region, and anticipation is already building around what the newly redesigned food court will look like when it reopens later this summer.
