Sixteen income-restricted apartments are planned at the new Old Town North community, with the first seven tentatively expected in December.

ALEXANDRIA, VA—Sixteen income-restricted apartments are planned at Margot, a new residential community at 425 Montgomery Street in Old Town North, according to the City of Alexandria’s Office of Housing.

The apartments will range from junior one-bedroom units to two-bedroom homes and will be offered through the City’s Affordable Rental Set-Aside Program. Eligibility will be limited to households earning up to 60% of the area median income.

The first phase is expected to deliver seven of the affordable apartments, tentatively in December. The remaining nine units will follow in a later phase.

Margot’s advertised amenities include a 24-hour fitness center, a library with a fireplace, on-site garage parking, bicycle storage, electric-vehicle charging, a swimming pool and a sun deck.

How to Apply

The City has not yet released rents, income limits for specific household sizes or application instructions. More information is expected in October through the Office of Housing website and the City’s October committed affordable unit report.
