Move the Car: Alexandria Repaving Returns to Somervelle and North Beauregard
ALEXANDRIA, VA— Alexandria drivers have another reason to look twice at the curb before leaving the car today.
The City’s Department of Transportation and Environmental Services says repaving and street maintenance are scheduled from Monday, Sept. 28, through Friday, Oct. 2, on two West End corridors:
- Somervelle Street, from Duke Street to the end of the street
- North Beauregard Street, from Lincolnia Road to Sanger Avenue
The City’s new Alexandria eNews notice says residents and businesses should watch for temporary No Parking signs. Vehicles left in posted work zones may be ticketed or towed.
The schedule can shift because of weather, equipment problems, utility work or conflicts with other City projects. People who live or work along the affected streets should check posted signs each day rather than relying on the original timetable.
Alexandria maintains more than 561 lane miles of roadway. The City posts current maintenance information on its street repair and repaving page, and residents can report roadway problems through Alex311.
