Enter DASH Poetry Contest, See Your Words Around Town

ALEXANDRIA, VA – This morning the City of Alexandria and Alexandria Transit Company announced that submissions are being accepted for the eighth annual “DASHing Words in Motion” poetry contest. Writers aged 16 years or older are invited to submit a poem if they live, work, or study in Alexandria.

Winning entries will be displayed on the sides of DASH buses during National Poetry Month this April.

A city press release describes the contest “as an opportunity to bring literary arts and poetry into everyday life.”

The submission deadline is Friday, Feb. 12 at 5 p.m. Visit alexandriava.gov/Arts to find the application in the Literary Programs section.
