ALEXANDRIA, VA-Know a teenager who has a good idea for saving money and has put that idea into practice? Burke & Herbert Bank is once again hosting the Lights, Camera, Save! video contest.

Teens aged 13-18 can win cash prizes by submitting a 30-second video clip that promotes wise money management. Top prize is $5,000. The deadline for entries is March 1.

The contest is a national competition organized by the American Bankers Foundation Association. Its purpose is to encourage teens to manage money wisely and influence their peers to do the same.

“It is so important, especially in today’s challenging economic environment, for teens to learn the value of establishing sound financial habits. This video contest provides a fun and unique way to encourage teens to build these habits to motivate each other,” said Burke & Herbert’s Executive Vice President Terry Cole.

The financial institution, established in 1852 and the oldest bank in the DC area, will host the first round of judging and select a winner to compete in the national competition. There are other prizes as well: $2,000 for second place and $1,000 each for two runners-up. There is also a reward for regional winners: $350, $100, and $50 respectively. Teachers who act as sponsors for the winners will receive $50 gift cards.

To participate, filmmakers must complete the entry form and submit a link to their video by the deadline above. All levels of experience are welcome. Click HERE for the entry form and submission packet. Full contest rules are included in the packet.
