ALEXANDRIA, VA-Enjoy both poetry and visual art? A new exhibit opened March 8 at the Art League Gallery that combines the two. The immersive display, called “Line by Line: Artists Interpret Poetry,” runs through April 3.
The exhibit’s theme, conceived by Art League Gallery Assistant Director (and poetry lover) Haven Ashley, features 97 pieces. These range from photographs to paintings to mixed media.
Ashley said her idea was to have the artists “Interpret what poetry means to them.”
D.C.-based painter and muralist Jordann Wine served as the show’s juror on opening night.

Gallery hours are Wednesday to Sunday, 12 to 4 p.m. It is located at 105 N. Union Street inside the Torpedo Factory Art Center. No admission required.
