Alexandria, VA – The Rotary Club of Alexandria awarded $97,000 in grants to 34 local nonprofits during its annual grants ceremony June 16 at Belle Haven Country Club. The funding will support organizations serving seniors, children, people with disabilities, literacy programs, and other community needs. Grant recipients were selected through a competitive application process, with Rotary members evaluating each organization’s mission, proposed use of funds, and potential community impact. This year, the club also introduced two larger “high-impact” grants to provide additional support to organizations with strong potential for long-term success. Rotary leaders said the goal is to invest in nonprofits that make a meaningful difference for Alexandria residents while building lasting partnerships with local organizations.
