Move the Car: Alexandria Road Work Hits Four Streets Next Week

ALEXANDRIA, VA— If you park on one of four Alexandria streets scheduled for repaving next week, pay close attention to the curb before walking away from your car.

The City of Alexandria’s Department of Transportation and Environmental Services says street repaving is planned Sept. 21–25 on four corridors around the city.

• Fillmore Avenue, from Seminary Road to North Chambliss Street
• North Armistead Street, from North Beauregard Street to the end
• Somervelle Street, from Duke Street to the end
• North Beauregard Street, from Lincolnia Road to Sanger Road

Watch for Temporary No Parking Signs

Residents and businesses on streets scheduled for repaving typically receive advance notice through project signs or letters. The City also posts temporary No Parking signs before work begins.

That part matters: vehicles left in a posted work zone may be ticketed or towed.

The schedule is not guaranteed. Weather, equipment issues, utility coordination and other City projects can shift the timing, so drivers who live or work along these streets should check the signs each day rather than assuming a block will remain open.
