ALEXANDRIA, VA – The coronavirus has made many people think twice about going out lately. In fact, health officials have encouraged people 60 and over to stay home to reduce the potential risk for severe illness. Feeling comfortable at home is important, especially when it’s hot and muggy outside.

That is why the City of Alexandria’s Division of Aging and Adult Services developed the Senior Care Cooling Program. Their workers know sometimes seniors need help to keep cool.

The program has some eligibility requirements though. For example, seniors must be Alexandria residents and meet income guidelines.
