9 Days of Live Music at More than 50 Venues
September 30-October 8th
The Alexandria music scene is set to be on full display once again during the Second Annual Alexandria Live Music Week scheduled for September 30th – October 8th. This year’s event will encompass all of Alexandria, VA, and will feature more than 200 performances in over 50 different venues. Alexandria Live Music Week will feature National, regional, and local bands of all genres including Bluegrass, Rock, Jazz, Country, Blues, Folk, Latin, etc.
Alexandria Live Music week kicks off throughout Alexandria on the evening Friday, September 30th, followed by a full schedule of music beginning at noon Saturday, October 1st, at Del Ray’s Art on the Avenue. During the week look for performances from national acts such as Lyle Lovett and Robert Earl Keen, The Funky Meters, and El DeBarge as well as from locally renowned artists such as Judge Smith, The Janna Audey Band, Free Flowing Musical Experience, Farley Granger, and Rocky Guttman.

HIGHLIGHTS:
- Lyle Lovett and Robert Earl Keen are set to bring their songwriting prowess to the Birchmere on Tuesday, October, and New Orleans legends, The Funky Meters, are set to perform on Friday, October 7th
- Alexandria Film Festival presents Spinal Tap – This One Goes to 11, movie viewing and theme party upstairs at Murphy’s on Sunday, October 2nd
- King Street Blues presents local blues bands and singer-songwriters seven of the nine days during the event. Artists include The Cathy B Duo and Joe Chiocca Band
- Blackwall Hitch complements its waterfront dining experience with daily performances by local and regional acts including Kajun Kelly and Mad Planet
- Murphy’s Irish Pub features Irish music nightly. Artists include Pat Garvey and Glasgow/Strutton
- Fiona’s Irish Pub and Daniel O’Connell’s each present a full week of live Irish music and rock including performances by Capital Celtic and Practically Einstein
- Magnolia’s on King hosts nightly jazz featuring guitarists Matt Sigalov and Evan Samuels
- Nick’s Nightclub features country music performances with renowned country artists The Derrick Dorsey Band and Double Clutch both set to perform
- Rock-It Grill hosts the first ever Alexandria Karaoke Championships beginning on Monday, October 3rd
